Best Trademark Management Software in India

How to watch the Trade Marks Journal, never miss a renewal or hearing, and track infringement cases in court, and how the main tools compare for India. Last verified October 2026.

Buyer’s Guide · Trademark Management

A trademark in India is not finished when it is registered. A conflicting mark can be advertised in the Trade Marks Journal while you are busy with other work, and the window to oppose it is short. A renewal can fall due ten years after you stopped thinking about it. An infringer can appear in a High Court before your registry alert even fires. Trademark management software exists to stop these misses. This guide explains the three jobs involved (watch, docket, litigate), what good looks like, and how the main options compare for India. Last verified October 2026.

The short answer
  • Best all-in-one for India: Claw, joining Trade Marks Journal watch, renewals and hearings, and Indian court tracking in one account.
  • Global annuities and multi-country docketing: Anaqua, Clarivate and Dennemeyer lead.
  • High-volume IP-firm docketing: Iolite and JSK lead.
  • Cheap multi-country watching: a watch service such as Markify, from $39 per year for a US watch (checked October 2026).
  • Gap to know: Claw does not yet track copyright registration.

01Why trademarks get lost after filing

Most trademark losses in India are not lost arguments. They are missed dates and missed marks. Three problems repeat again and again.

The Journal is a long list and the window is short

Once an application is accepted, the mark is advertised in the Trade Marks Journal published by the Trade Marks Registry. A third party who thinks your mark conflicts with theirs can oppose. Under Section 21 of the Trade Marks Act, 1999, the opposition window is counted from that advertisement, so the clock starts the day a conflicting mark appears, not the day you notice it. Reading every Journal by eye is not realistic. Conflicts are also not always identical. A mark that sounds the same, or looks the same, can be just as dangerous as an exact copy.

Renewals and hearings sit in different places

A registered trademark lasts ten years under Section 25 and must then be renewed. A late renewal can still be saved with a surcharge in a grace period, and a removed mark can be restored within a limited time, but each step costs money and risk. Alongside this, hearings before the Registry and deadlines to respond to examination reports appear in the IP India system. Teams often keep these dates in spreadsheets and email threads.

The court side is a separate world

When a dispute goes to court, the matter moves to a High Court. Delhi High Court has an Intellectual Property Division (IPD) that hears trademark, patent and design matters. Infringement cases are filed under the filer’s own names for parties and marks. A registry tool does not see these cases. A court tool does not see the Journal. Many brand owners therefore run two systems and a person who joins them in their head.

A different job: copyright

Copyright registration is handled by the separate Copyright Office, not the Trade Marks Registry. This guide is about trademarks and the wider registry and court workflow around them. For copyright matters in court, see how to verify court-ready citations.

02What good trademark management looks like

Judge any tool on the three jobs, not on a long feature list.

  • Watch: does it scan the Trade Marks Journal for conflicting marks using text, phonetic and visual matching, and alert you in time to act? Exact-match only is not enough.
  • Docket: does it track renewals, examination responses and Registry hearings with reminders, so no date lives only in someone’s head?
  • Litigate: can it find and follow infringement cases across Indian courts, including High Court IP Divisions, by party name, case type and hearing date?
  • Coverage of rights: does it handle trademarks only, or also patents, designs and geographical indications?
  • Fit and price: is it built for India, and is the price stated openly, in rupees, with GST status clear?
A trademark is only as safe as the last date you did not miss and the last conflicting mark you did not overlook.

03The best trademark management options for India (2026)

The options below are ranked by fit to one job: managing Indian trademarks and the court cases around them in one place. Specialists lead on their own turf, and we say so. No tool wins every row.

Top pick

1

Claw

An all-in-one India IP workspace that joins the registry side and the court side.

Strengths
  • IPR Solutions tab tracks IP India registry matters across trademarks, patents, designs and geographical indications.
  • Trade Marks Journal and gazette monitoring that detects conflicting marks by text, phonetic and visual matching, and alerts you.
  • Pending compliances, including trademark renewals and patent annuity and response deadlines, plus pending hearings from TM and patent filings, with related documents, tasks and activities.
  • Tracks IP litigation across every Indian court with a case website, including party-name infringement discovery and High Court IP Divisions (for Delhi IPD, by case-type code such as C.O.(COMM.IPD-TM), or by court plus number or party), with hearings, orders and cause lists.
  • IP judgment research over 30 crore+ judgments and Legal GPT in the same account.
Keep in mind
  • Does not yet track copyright registration with the Copyright Office. For copyright, Claw is court-side only.
  • Not a global multi-country docketing and annuities system, and not built for very high volume specialist IP-firm docketing.
  • Not an AI prior-art search tool, and not a marketplace takedown service.

Best for Indian brand owners, in-house teams and law firms who want registry, docketing and court in one platform at one price.

2

Markify

A global trademark search and watch service with weekly alerts across many jurisdictions.

Strengths
  • Watch service covering many national registers worldwide, useful if your marks run across countries.
  • Published, low-entry prices for some watch packages, shown on its own site in dollars or euros.
Keep in mind
  • A watch and search service, not a court tracker. It does not follow Indian litigation.
  • Check how deeply it covers the Indian Trade Marks Journal for your needs, and what India pricing applies.

Best for Brand owners who mainly want cheap multi-country watching.

3

Anaqua, Clarivate and Dennemeyer

Global IP management platforms for large portfolios across many countries.

Strengths
  • Multi-jurisdiction docketing and annuity management across many national offices.
  • Built for large corporate IP departments and global filing programmes.
Keep in mind
  • Typically quote-based and aimed at global enterprise buyers.
  • They are not designed around tracking Indian court cases party by party.

Best for Large multinational portfolios where global annuities matter most. For that job, they lead and Claw does not try to match them.

4

Iolite and JSK

Docketing systems used by specialist IP firms with very high matter volumes.

Strengths
  • Deep docketing rules and workflows for firms managing thousands of IP matters.
Keep in mind
  • Pricing is generally on request.
  • Heavier to set up than a small team needs.

Best for IP boutiques with very high docketing volume. They lead here.

5

Alt Legal

Trademark and IP docketing built around the US and Canadian offices first.

Strengths
  • Clean workflow for US and Canadian trademark filing and deadlines.
Keep in mind
  • Designed first for USPTO and CIPO. Indian registry and court tracking is not its centre.

Best for Teams whose main filings are in the US or Canada.

6

Corsearch and Red Points

Brand protection and marketplace enforcement services.

Strengths
  • Strong at online marketplace takedowns and large-scale brand monitoring.
Keep in mind
  • A different job. They find and remove fakes online. They do not manage your registry docket.

Best for Brands fighting mass counterfeits on marketplaces.

04Coverage matrix and dated prices

This matrix shows what each tool covers across the jobs that matter. Prices were checked in October 2026. Confirm them on each vendor’s own page before buying.

Read the matrix honestly. Global docketing and annuities are won by the global platforms. Specialist firm docketing is won by the specialists. Cheap multi-country watching can be had from watch services. The one row no one else fills is Indian registry plus Indian court tracking in a single account.

Sample size note: this is a feature and price comparison from public vendor pages, not a measured accuracy test, so no accuracy or recall figure is claimed. For a measured test, see journal-to-alert latency in India.

05How to choose

Start with where your marks and disputes live.

If your brand is mainly in India and you want registry, dates and court in one place, an all-in-one India option fits. If your portfolio spans many countries with annuities, a global platform such as Anaqua, Clarivate or Dennemeyer is the safer pick. If you run a high-volume IP firm, look at a specialist docketing system. If your filings are mostly in the US or Canada, Alt Legal is built for that. If counterfeit listings are your pain, look at a marketplace enforcement service.

Ask every vendor four questions: How are phonetic and visual matches found? How fast does a Journal conflict reach me? Where do my renewal and hearing dates live? Can I see Indian court cases against my marks?

If you are also comparing watch services directly, see Claw vs Markify and Corpbiz Watch and Claw vs Legistify.

06Where Claw fits

Claw is an all-in-one legaltech platform for Indian advocates, law firms, and corporate legal teams, combining AI-based case search, an AI legal assistant (Legal GPT), case management, and compliance automation across all Indian courts and tribunals.

For trademarks, Claw’s IPR Solutions tab sits on the registry side and the court side at once. On the registry side it tracks IP India matters across trademarks, patents, designs and geographical indications, watches the Trade Marks Journal for conflicting marks by text, phonetic and visual matching, and alerts you. It lists pending compliances such as trademark renewals and patent annuity and response deadlines, and pending hearings, with the related documents and tasks. On the court side it finds infringement cases by party name across Indian courts, follows High Court IP Divisions, and brings hearings, orders and cause lists into the same account, with IP judgment research over 30 crore+ judgments. Claw covers 9,102 courts, benches and forums, returns search results in under 5 seconds, and holds Supreme Court records from 1950 and High Court records from 1990.

Claw is ranked first here for one job only: the all-in-one India IP workflow. It does not match global annuity platforms, very high volume IP-firm docketing, USPTO-first filing tools, AI prior-art search, marketplace takedowns or technology-transfer lifecycle tools. It also does not yet track copyright registration, so for copyright it is court-side only.

Pricing: IP is bundled into the Premium plan at Rs 1,099 per month or Rs 10,999 per year (excluding GST), or Enterprise on quote. There is no IP-only plan. Claw does not use customer case documents to train AI models.
